The Catnip Times’ mission is to educate, enlighten and provide loads of feel-good moments to cat lovers everywhere. We believe cats and the people who love them, make the world a better place.
Lauren Mieli is the founder and creative force behind The Catnip Times. Lauren has been involved with cat (and animal) advocacy for over 30 years. She has been an active volunteer with a local no-kill shelter in the Chicago area and has been active in animal advocacy and the humane treatment of animals in the U.S. and abroad. She works with law enforcement, animal rescue advocates, and rescue organizations to spread the word about the importance of anti-cruelty legislation, Trap Neuter Vaccinate Return (TNVR) programs, spay/neuter, adopt don't shop and anti-declaw policy.
Lauren is a Chicago native. She lives and works in the Chicagoland area with her husband (a cat lover) and her many cats - all rescues. When she's not working, she's doting over her own cats, researching cat stories, looking at cat pictures, or working on The Catnip Times. Aside from cats, she enjoys being outside (in the summer), cooking and oil painting.
The Catnip Times is independently owned, operated and self-funded by Lauren. By supporting her shop, you can help support The Catnip Times.
